LVK ships orders based on the selected shipping service level (standard, expedited, overnight), product availability and order hold status.
Reasons a New Order May Ship First
Shipping Service Level
If an order with standard shipping imports to LVK on Dec 10th at 11am and a second order with expedited shipping imports to LVK at 12pm, the second (newer) order may ship first in order for it meet the appropriate SLA.
Order Status
Order Hold
An older order with a hold may not be able to ship, which would allow for a newer order to ship first.
Ready to Ship
Only orders with a status of ready to ship will be sent to the shipping queue. Any other status, including on hold or not ready, will prevent an order from being sent to the queue and could account for why a newer order is processed before an older one.
Reasons a New Order May be Picked First
Our LVK warehouses have multiple methods for processing orders depending on order volume, inventory velocity and labor efficiency. At times, orders are picked separately and other times orders are processed in bulk.
Due to these various processes, a newer order may be fulfilled before an older order. This is all part of warehouse management and allows LVK to meet timely shipping SLAs.
