The first movement in a tracking link is the creation of the label. This means that a shipping label has been generated. This happens at the packing station and indicates that the order has been processed and will be placed in a shipping container for later pickup by the carrier.
How does LVK ensure the package is handed over to the carrier?
At LVK Fulfillment Centers, we utilize LVK shipping containers to track the packages sent from each warehouse. This process allows us to monitor how our packages are scanned and sorted at the warehouse, which makes it easier to identify the root cause of any issues.
Our shipping container feature serves as the initial reference point to determine if we handed the package to the correct carrier.
How Can I Check if my Package is a No First Scan?
1. Log into LVK Portal.
2. Click on Reports > Shipments.
3. Search for the order in the search bar.
4. Scroll to the right on the table, until you see the tracking number and the shipping carrier columns. Click on Tracking Link under Shipping Carrier.
5. The tracking link will take you to the Carriers tracking page. This page will provide the most up-to-date information regarding your order.
6. If there is no information on the Carrier's tracking page or there is a message that indicates the package was never received by the carrier, there is a chance that the package has no first scan.
Tracking Movements on Carrier Sites
LVK provides the tracking URL and tracking number for every order shipped. To track the progress of a shipment, you must check on the package's movements on the tracking page for the specific carrier.

What should I do if there’s no first scan?
- If 72 hours have passed since your label was created and there have been no updates, please contact our support team. They will investigate whether there is an issue with the shipping container.
- If there is no issue with the shipping container, please allow up to 15 days for the label to show updates. Should there be no progress after this period, please visit the LVK Knowledge Base and submit a ticket for a Carrier Claim.
- There are two different reasons you may not see any other updates.
- The package is still in transit to its destination and the carrier has not scanned it throughout the process.
- The package is lost due to carrier error.
- You may choose whether to reship the order or wait for movements on the tracking link.
- LVK will not cover the cost of the reshipment if first scan proves that the package was handed off to a carrier from the LVK warehouse.
How to Determine if you are Eligible for a Shipping Cost Credit
LVK's claim team offers a grace period of up to 21 days for tracking updates for all carriers. For USPS and ACI, the grace period extends to 30 days. If there is no movement within this timeframe, the package is considered lost or unreachable.
NOTE: For orders shipped via USPS that do not have an initial scan, we are required to request a credit from the carrier for the cost of the unused label. Once the credit has been approved, we will promptly inform you when the amount has been applied to your account. Please be advised that this credit is subject to USPS approval.
- If our fulfillment center team sorted the package incorrectly, we will analyze the situation, and in some cases, we may credit back the shipping cost.
- If the package appears as scanned in the LVK app, it indicates that we have placed it in the appropriate container. Nevertheless, there may be instances when the carriers do not scan the packages at our facilities. In such cases, we will assess the situation and provide a credit for the shipping cost.
NOTE: The LVK shipping containers are only available for LVK-generated labels (small parcel labels, generic labels, FBA orders, Passport orders, 3rd party labels are not included).
