This glossary covers key inventory and product terms used in LVK.
Allocated
Count of how many units you have in stock and owe to customers for open orders.
Allow Partial
If a customer orders two products and only one is in stock, you can choose whether to ship the available unit immediately or wait until all items are in stock. This setting can be applied as an automation rule or modified on individual orders.
Available
The number of units for any given SKU that is pushed to connected sales channels. This is On Hand plus any additional Sell Ahead minus any allocations to open orders.
Sell Ahead can be set on a Purchase Order and is frequently used for running pre-orders.
Back Order
Count of how many units are allocated to orders that do not have On Hand inventory.
Barcode or UPC
A barcode or UPC (Universal Product Code) is a method of representing data in a visual, machine-readable form. Barcodes represent data through varying widths and spacing of parallel lines.
Bin (Location)
A defined location for organizing SKUs in the warehouse.
Hazmat Products
HAZMAT is an abbreviation for "hazardous materials" — substances in quantities or forms that may pose a reasonable risk to health, property, or the environment. Hazmat products require proper mapping and carrier authorization. LVK does not ship Hazmat products internationally.
Kit
An SKU that contains a collection of other SKUs, referred to as components.
On Hand
The total count of a SKU physically present in the warehouse.
Available is the count indicated in your sales channels.
On Order
The total count of an SKU that has been ordered from a vendor (also referred to as a supplier).
Pending Return
The total count of an SKU that is currently marked for return and has not yet been received.
Sell Ahead
Count of units on an incoming Purchase Order that you want to make available for sale on your platform before they have been received.
For example: You have 10 On Hand, 0 Allocated, and a Purchase Order arriving tomorrow with 100 units. If you set a Sell Ahead of 50, LVK will notify your sales channel that 60 units are available for sale (On Hand plus Sell Ahead).
SKU
Stock Keeping Unit. A unique identification code assigned to each product in your inventory. LVK will generate a SKU if none exists, based on the product ID found in the sales channel.
