Zone skipping is how LVK moves packages from a fulfillment center closer to your customer's location before final delivery. Instead of shipping directly from the origin warehouse, packages are grouped with others heading to the same region and dropped at a nearby sorting center for the last leg of delivery.
Direct vs. Zone Skipped
If your order was zone skipped, you'll see "Zone Skipping" next to the carrier tracking link on the order page.
Here's how each shipping method works:
Direct Shipment
- Item is picked, packed, and shipped from an LVK warehouse.
- Carrier picks up the package and routes it through sorting centers.
- Carrier delivers to the end customer.
Zone Skipping
- Item is picked and packed at an LVK warehouse.
- Package is grouped with others in a bulk shipment heading to the same region.
- Bulk shipment is dropped at the carrier's local sorting center near the end customer.
- Final mile carrier delivers to the end customer.
LVK zone skips packages based on sales velocity and demand.
How Does Zone Skipping Affect Tracking?
Zone skipping does not affect your shipping cost or delivery time (3–5 days). The final mile tracking number is pushed to your store just like any other shipment.
When you click the tracking link, you may see a page like this — indicating a label was created and showing any movement before the final mile carrier scan:
Tracking links for zone skipped shipments expire 60 days after the ship date. After that, check the carrier's website directly for status.
Final Mile Carrier Tracking
Once the final mile carrier scans the package, tracking will update. The scan may take slightly longer than a direct shipment since some carrier stops are bypassed — but this does not delay delivery.
Please allow 72 hours before contacting support about an in-transit zone skipped shipment. This gives the final mile carrier time to scan and update the tracking.
