LVK charges receiving based on how your inventory arrives: by pallet, by carton, or by unit. The rates specific to your account are in your fulfillment agreement. The rules below explain which rate applies to a given shipment, so you can estimate receiving costs before your freight arrives.

How LVK Determines Your Receiving Charge
The warehouse charges the pallet, carton, or unit rate depending on how the inventory is packed when it arrives. Mixed packing takes more handling, so it moves the charge to a smaller unit of measure.
| How the shipment arrives | How LVK charges it |
|---|---|
| One SKU on a pallet | Pallet rate |
| Mixed SKUs on one pallet | The warehouse either breaks the pallet into single-SKU pallets and charges the pallet rate for each, or charges the carton rate. Which one applies depends on the number of cartons. |
| Mixed lots on one pallet | Same as mixed SKUs: broken into separate pallets at the pallet rate, or charged at the carton rate based on carton count. |
| Cartons that arrive unpalletized | Carton rate |
| Cartons that arrive for LVK to palletize | Carton rate |
| Mixed cartons (more than one SKU inside a single carton) | Unit rate |
Pallets have a 63 in. height limit. When a single layer on a pallet is taller than 18 in., LVK receives the shipment as a pallet regardless of how it was packed.
Additional Freight Charges at Receiving
These charges apply on top of the pallet, carton, or unit receiving rate.
| Freight Type | Additional Charge |
|---|---|
| Container | An unloading charge applies, separate from your receiving rate. See the LVK Receiving Overview. |
| Freight LTL or FTL | A charge applies when freight arrives without advance notice. LTL means less than truckload and FTL means full truckload. See the LVK Freight Guidelines for how to notify the warehouse in advance. |
Non-Compliant Receiving Charges
Shipments that don't meet LVK's packing, labeling, or notification requirements are charged a non-compliance fee. Review the LVK Receiving Overview before shipping to avoid these charges.
