Kitting bundles related products into a single kit that ships as one unit. LVK's Special Projects team pre-assembles your kits ahead of time, so orders ship without picking and packing each component at the time of the order.
What Is Kitting at LVK?
A kit is a group of components (products, boxes, inserts, marketing materials) assembled into one finished unit with its own SKU. Once the warehouse pre-builds a batch of kits, each kit sits in inventory as a single sellable item and ships immediately when an order comes in.
When LVK pre-assembles your kit, you don't need to set the Assembly SKU up as a kit in the LVK app. The warehouse tracks the finished kit as its own product.
How to Submit a Kitting Request to LVK
Before You Begin
Set up these SKUs in your account before you open a ticket:
- An Assembly SKU, meaning a unique SKU name and barcode for the finished kit. It must be different from every component SKU.
- A SKU name for each component that goes into the kit, including boxes and marketing materials.
Steps to Request Kitting
- Open a support ticket with the Special Projects team.
- Enter the Assembly SKU name and the total number of kits to pre-build.
- List each component SKU and the quantity needed per kit.
- Submit the ticket. The Special Projects team updates it once kitting is complete.
Kitting Labor Costs
Kitting labor is charged at $45/hr in the US and $63/hr in Canada, with a 15-minute minimum per request. See Special Project Guidelines for full pricing details.
