LVK Freight Guidelines

Required Quote Information

  • Your company name
  • Your LVK Shipping Plan (SP) number and client name

Preparing the Shipment for Freight Pick-Up

Once our team has sent the Bill of Lading, prepare the freight as follows:

  • Print 2 copies of the BOL: one for you, one for the driver. The driver will add a PRO number to your copy; keep it for tracking.
  • Place pallet tags (from your Shipping Plan) on the outside of each pallet.

Important Notes for Freight

  • All freight shipments must be scheduled with the LVK Freight Team.
  • Freight claims must be directed to the Special Projects team.
  • Side-loaded shipments, unstable pallets, or loads that arrive in unsafe conditions incur a minimum fee of $150.
  • Inbound pallet height limit: 63"; no double-stacked skids.
  • A freight appointment is required for shipments of 20+ cartons or 1+ pallet.
  • Unscheduled deliveries incur a fee of up to $500 and may be turned away if no dock is available.
  • Truckload shipments require a 2-hour unload window.
  • Floor-loaded deliveries require 48 hours' advance notice and prior approval. Live unloads are generally not available. Provide the number of free days the carrier allows, as the container may need to be dropped at our facility.

Same Day Delivery

Same-day delivery is not guaranteed. It depends on availability and warehouse capacity. The flat fee is $150. All same-day requests must arrive before noon local time.

Same-day delivery is limited to shipments of 6 pallets or fewer.

Unknown Freight

Shipments that arrive unscheduled and without a Client Name and/or Shipping Plan number will not be accepted and will be returned to the carrier.

Fines

All LTL, FTL, and Container shipments must be scheduled in advance: 24 hours for LTL, 48 hours for FTL or Container. Unscheduled deliveries are subject to the following fines:

LTL Shipments

  • 1st offense: Written/verbal warning
  • 2nd offense: $100
  • 3rd offense: $500

FTL & Container Shipments

  • 1st offense: $200
  • 2nd offense: $400
  • 3rd offense: $500
