Sell Ahead & Pre-Sale Orders

Planning a product launch or major sale? You can request the ability to input sell-ahead quantities directly on an inbound Shipping Plan (Purchase Order).

Why is this beneficial?

  • Start selling immediately — before inventory arrives at the warehouse — at no additional cost.
  • Manage customer expectations around ship dates from day one.

How to Request Sell Ahead

  1. Open a support ticket to request the sell-ahead feature.
  2. Once enabled, create a new Shipping Plan. See instructions here.
  3. While the Shipping Plan is in Draft status, add the sell-ahead quantity to each line item. (You don't need to enter a quantity for every SKU.)
  4. Complete the rest of the Purchase Order, then scroll down and click Save.

Important notes

  • The sell-ahead quantity cannot exceed the quantity on the Shipping Plan — this prevents overselling.
  • Once saved, the sell-ahead quantity is pushed to your store and cannot be edited on the Shipping Plan.

The sell-ahead column will only appear after support enables the feature. If you don't see it, open a support ticket.
